Information We Collect
We collect information to help us provide our PICFARI Users ("User") with better Services.
Methods of Collection
Information You Provide to PICFARI
One method by which PICFARI collects your information is through the information you provide to us.
There are a few places where we give you an opportunity to provide us your personal information. This refers to information that lets us know the specifics of who you are.
When you engage in certain activities on our website, such as looking at other Users photographs, searching for a PICFARI for a specific destination, entering a contest or sweepstakes, connecting via a social network, creating and maintaining a User account, filling out a survey, or sending us feedback, we may ask you to provide certain information. If you choose to share any personal information with us, you will see that the amount and type of personal information we request depend on how you use our website.
Once you register with PICFARI - we collect your username, password and e-mail address.
Additionally, PICFARI will collect the following information:
- Your profile information which is used in connection with your User Profile (such as full name, picture, telephone number, etc.) so that others can find you and your PICFARI Account;
- Your User Content (such as photographs, comments, etc.) which you post to PICFARI; and
- Your communication with us (e.g. comments or questions you direct to our attention).
Depending upon the activity, some of the information we ask you to provide is identified as mandatory and some as voluntary. If you do not provide the mandatory data with respect to a particular activity, you will not be able to engage in that activity.
Information We Obtain From Your Use of PICFARI
Another method by which PICFARI collects your information is through the Services you use and how you use them - such as your interaction with various advertisements. (For more information regarding our use of advertisements, please see below under "Sharing Your Information.")
You can browse our website without telling us who you are or revealing any personal information about yourself. We are, however, able to determine your IP address. We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server, to administer our website, to measure the use of our website and to improve the content of our website. In short we use your IP to gather aggregate demographic information.
In addition to your IP address, PICFARI may collect device-specific information such as operating system version, device hardware model, other unique device identification information, and mobile device information such as your telephone number. PICFARI may associate these pieces of device information with your PICFARI Account.
As the essence of PICFARI is to allow Users to see where your picture was taken, we may collect and process information about your actual location, such as GPS signals sent by your mobile device as you upload a photograph. We may also use other technology to determine your location such as sensor data which may provide information on local cell phone towers or Wi-Fi access points.
When you upload a photograph with geographical data or manually geotag your photograph, this photograph will be seen on a map. Note, however, that uploads are generally not real time.
We use analytics tools from third-parties in efforts to measure usage and traffic trends for PICFARI. Through the use of these tools, we collect information sent by your device to PICFARI, including but not limited to: the various web pages you visit, add-ons, etc.
Note: your collection of information through the use of these analytics tools is such that your information is combined with information from other PICFARI Users; thereby making it so we cannot reasonably identify any particular individual PICFARI User.
By using this website, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above.
Metadata assists in making your User Content more easily searchable by others.
"Metadata" is technical data which is associated with your User Content. Metadata can describe: who collected a piece of User Content, how such User Content was collected, at what time such User Content was collected, and how that content is formatted.
Note: Users add Metadata to their User Content when they include a geotag (marking the location of a photograph), hashtag (marking keywords when posting a photograph) comments, or other data.
Also Note: When using a geotag, your latitude and longitude will be stored with the photograph and thereby become searchable via map feature if your photograph is made public by you in accordance with your privacy settings. PICFARI recommends that you post photos when you return home from a trip.
Also Note: Some countries or regions regulate the use of GPS devices and technology. Check with the embassy or your travel agency to determine if there are any restrictions on using a GPS camera.
Cookies and More
We utilize various technologies to collect and store information when you visit PICFARI, including but not limited to: sending cookies, anonymous identifiers, pixels, or web beacons to your device. These identifiers may also be used when you interact with Services we offer to our partners (such as advertising services or PICFARI features that may appear on other various sites).
Anytime you use a mobile device such as a cellular phone or tablet to access PICFARI, we may collect, monitor, access, store on your device, and/or store one or more "device identifiers" remotely. A "device identifier" is a small data file or similar data structure which is associated with or stored on your mobile device. These device identifiers uniquely identify your mobile device and may be stored in connection with device hardware, operating system, or other software.
Your browser automatically reports log file information each and any time you request to visit a web page or app, or you download a webpage or app to your browser or device.
PICFARI automatically records certain log file information, including: your web request, IP Address, browser type, exit pages, URLs, amount of clicks, your interaction with links on PICFARI, domain names, landing pages, pages viewed, etc.
The purpose of collection of such information is to improve PICFARI's Service for its Users.
The Way We Use Your Information
The purpose of our use of your information is so we can provide you and other PICFARI Users with the best PICFARI possible. Your information is collected and used to provide you with: more tailored content, more relevant search results and advertisements, more efficient access to your information after you sign into PICFARI, assistance with remembering information so you need not re-enter it during your next visit to PICFARI, monitoring of the effectiveness of PICFARI's Services, development and testing of new features, as well as diagnosing and fixing various technological issues; and automatically update the PICFARI app on your device, etc.
Additionally, we may use your personal information for particular purposes such as marketing research and other marketing purposes and for providing you with the latest promotional information and other information that might be useful to you. We may use your personal information to deliver information to you and to contact you regarding administrative notices. We may share this information with PICFARI Affiliates (defined below) or other business partners to support your customer relationship with the company.

In order to provide free access to PICFARI, we rely on an advertising model to generate revenue. PICFARI will target advertising based on personal information provided by Users and inferred from site usage. This may include gender, age, or geographic data. PICFARI does not provide any personal information to the advertiser when you interact with or view a targeted advertisement. However, by interacting with or viewing an advertisement you are consenting to the possibility that the advertiser will make the assumption that you meet the targeting criteria used to display the advertisement. We may bundle and share the non-personal information we collect from you and other Users with advertisers, third parties, trusted partners and affiliates so that they display advertising that better suits the interests of Users of our site. We may aggregate your personal information with information about others. In that case we will make your information non-personally identifiable by removing your name and other characteristics that would identify it as you. We may use and/or share the resulting non-personal information with third parties.
PICFARI may also remove parts of data that can identify you and share this anonymous data with other parties. PICFARI may additionally combine your information with other information in a way that it is no longer associated with you, and this aggregated information may be shared with others.
Whom You May Choose to Share Your Content With
PICFARI makes it easy to share your uploaded photographs with social media sites. If you elect to link your photographs directly to social media sharing sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, or other third-party social media plug-ins and applications, you are allowing us to have access to certain information from your social media profile (e.g., name, e-mail address, photograph, gender, birthday, location, your list of friends, people you follow and/or who follow you, the posts or the "likes" you make) to deliver the content or as part of the operation of the application.
Any information or content that you voluntarily disclose for posting to the Service, such as User Content, will become available to the public, as controlled by any applicable privacy settings that you set at your own discretion. Once you have shared User Content with the public, that User Content may be re-shared by other Users.
